The Informal Artscape is a community hub in response to Main Street’s social condition; a community desiring to create art and claim the canvas that the art created upon. With many luxury developments being proposed on the immediate site, a massive young and low-income population will face the effects of these gentrifying developments. To solidify and create a space that honours the community’s art; an informal graffiti hall is proposed. The design of the Informal Artscape was achieved through a series of field conditions; to follow the same informality of authentic informal art; such as spray painting the underside of a bridge or the side of a building, we designed these field conditions that the agents of the space have to navigate to find and claim the canvas for their art.
